Dr. Shashi Tharoor is a four-term Member of the Indian Parliament and chairs the Parliamentary Standing Committee on External Affairs. He is the bestselling author of twenty-seven books, both fiction and non-fiction. A former Under Secretary-General of the United Nations, he has also served as India’s Minister of State for Human Resource Development and for External Affairs. Dr. Tharoor has received numerous accolades, including the Commonwealth Writers’ Prize, the Crossword Lifetime Achievement Award and the Pravasi Bharatiya Samman. In 2019, he was awarded the Sahitya Akademi Award, India’s second-highest literary prize, for his book An Era of Darkness.
